How should people relate to wood?
Perhaps Japanese wood culture still holds clues.
IPPON NIPPON — the world's echo — is an ongoing travelling dialogue exploring a more meaningful relationship between people and wood through culture, craftsmanship, belief, and everyday life.
Each chapter begins with a different theme.
The first chapter takes place in Paris, under the theme Reading Wood.
How might reading wood illuminate the relationship between people and wood?
This exhibition begins with that question.
人と木は、どのような関係性を築けばよいのでしょうか。
日本の木の文化には、そのヒントが残されているかもしれません。
IPPON NIPPON — the world's echo — は、文化、技術、信仰、暮らしを手がかりに、人と木との心地良い距離感を探る巡回型ダイアローグです。
それぞれの章は、一つずつテーマを掲げます。
第一章は、フランス・パリを舞台に、「木を読む｜Reading Wood」。
木を読むことは、木と人との関係をどのように照らし出すのか？
その問いから、本展は始まりました。
